Mohamed Goush Marikan has a unique edge amongst his peers in the Admiralty Bar as he is armed with both seagoing experience and legal ability.
Goush sailed with Neptune Orient Lines for a period of over 8 years. He started off as a Deck Cadet before ending his seafaring days as a Chief Officer. He served in various capacities on deck while sailing onboard general cargo vessels, container vessels and bulk carriers. He obtained his law degree in 1990 and was a law lecturer from 1990 to 1994.
His invaluable experience at sea and sound knowledge of the law has allowed Goush to carve a niche for himself in the technical and "wet" side of shipping where he has made a name for himself in the industry.
Goush is regularly instructed to handle and investigate petrochemical contamination cases as well as oil/chemical related disputes for oil majors, P&I Clubs and shipowners. He is also frequently instructed to investigate ship collisions and all manner of maritime casualties.
His ability to provide clients with quick, practical and effective ideas to handle casualties so as to minimise losses and best protect their interests makes him an instant choice for clients.
